5G Innovation Summit – 17th November

17th November, 2021
2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Liberty Training & Conference Centre, 197 St George's Terrace Perth

As part of our ongoing support of Innovation Australia, we are delighted to be able to host this free 5G event.

In telecommunications, 5G is the fifth generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which cellular phone companies began deploying worldwide in 2019, and is the planned successor to the 4G networks which provide connectivity to most current cellphones.

5G is the next leap forward in mobile network technology. 5G builds on the foundation of 4G with innovative new technologies, base station upgrades, and greater access to spectrum bandwidth. Downloads that take seconds, not minutes. Seamless streaming. Real-time gaming. A future where devices are interconnected, and immersive experiences are the norm. 5G networks are predicted to have more than 1.7 billion subscribers worldwide by 2025, according to the GSM Association.

Like its predecessors, 5G networks are cellular networks, in which the service area is divided into small geographical areas called cells. All 5G wireless devices in a cell are connected to the Internet and telephone network by radio waves through a local antenna. The main advantage of the new networks is that they will have greater bandwidth, giving higher download speeds, eventually up to 10 gigabits per second.

In the near future, 5G signals will beam down from space and support our ‘terrestrial’ 5G infrastructure on Earth. The result is a new space race for satellites – promising to offer customers a seamless wireless experience across the globe.

Join us and learn about the impact of 5G technology and how it is going to transform our lives. From autonomous vehicles to telemedicine, 5G is already advancing innovation and allowing the implementation of new technologies.
