Launch of Felix Real Estate

February 2023

The parent company of Liberty Flexible Workspaces, The Happy Workplace Group, launched a commercial real estate business called Felix Real Estate. Felix aims to cover the market, from helping landlords add flex to their buildings to partnering with occupiers.

Felix works hand in hand with Liberty Flexible Workspaces to help landlords ‘Add Flex’ to buildings and provide amenities to attract corporate occupiers whilst simultaneously curating a pipeline of future tenants.

Felix also helps businesses, including clients of Liberty, navigate their commercial real estate journey, identifying solutions appropriate to businesses’ individual needs.

Launch of The Happy Workplace Group

A new umbrella group, called The Happy Workplace Group, comprising Felix Real Estate and Liberty Flexible Workspaces launched to support businesses at every stage of their journey.

Establishing the new group saw a reshuffle of the senior leadership team with Jamie Vine becoming Group Chief Executive of The Happy Workplace Group making way for Paul Miller to take the reins as Liberty’s new CEO following a decade as Chief Operating Officer. Dan Clarke, who joined Liberty in January 2022 after spending 4 years at Knight Frank and almost 2 years at Ray White Commercial, leads Felix as its Managing Partner

Opening of 2 The Esplanade

November 2022

The facility on level 17 is newly refurbished and the space comprises a reception with concierge, a number of private offices from one person up to 8-person, meeting cubicles, a very generous break-out space, lounge, and two purpose-built meeting rooms.

The 40-storey Exchange Tower occupies a prominent position on the corner of Barrack St and The Esplanade in the rapidly developing Elizabeth Quay area of Perth CBD.

This convenient location is at the centre of everything the CBD has to offer and is close to restaurants, hotels, culture, arts and entertainment venues. Opening of 162 Grand Boulevard

October 2021

The new facility, located on the prominent junction of Grand Boulevard and Boas Avenue, and provides 122 workstations in 34 private offices, coworking space, a generous lounge area and 2 state-of-the-art boardrooms across 776 sqm.

The Joondalup location mirrors the inspiring interior design enjoyed by businesses at their 197 St George’s Terrace and 35 Outram Street facilities, and the recently refurbished and iconic 1060 Hay Street location.

In addition to providing a home to the local small business community, the new facility is also a solution to the hybrid real estate strategy being adopted by larger corporates where workforces spend some time working from (or near) home and some time in head office.

10 Years Anniversary

July 2021

In July 2021 we celebrated the tenth anniversary of our first location opening in Perth.

Opening of Level 12, 197 St George's Terrace

August 2020

Liberty is situated at 197 St Georges Terrace a landmark in Perth amongst its peers in the CBD, located on the southwest corner of St Georges Terrace and Mill street.

Opened in August 2020, Level 12 is the flagship location for Liberty Flexible Workspaces and the blueprint for new locations and refurbishment upgrades.

A new 1200sqm state-of-the-art Training & Conference Centre on the Ground Floor complements the private service offices on Levels 12 and 14.

Partnership with StartUpWA

June 2021

StartupWA was formed in 2015 as a non-profit entity to enable a more open, representative and effective approach to advance the startup industry in WA.

Their Vision is for Western Australia to be recognised as a global hub for entrepreneurial and technology talent and where the value that startups bring to the economy is widely embraced.

The start-up economy is an important ecosystem and we were delighted to be able to contribute.

Opening of 1060 Hay Street

November 2018

Liberty West Perth is located on level 3 of this superbly located building.

Liberty West Perth is situated between Hay Street and Wellington Street, adjacent to the freeway and is within walking distance of the CBD, with a free CAT bus stop around the corner.

The facility features private serviced offices, meeting rooms and a business lounge, with extensive ‘end of trip’ facilities.

Perth Angels Partnership

Perth Angels formed in 2010 to bring together likeminded business people to expand their peer groups, networks and to encourage investment into the early stage entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Perth Angels is a destination that supports ethical and efficient investment in emerging local business ventures. Perth Angels is a ‘for-purpose’ association and the only group to be affiliated with the national and international angel investor network and is a place where great ideas connect with smart money, connecting founders to funders.

Opening of 53 Burswood Road

July 2018

53 Burswood Road occupies a prominent position on the corner of Burswood Road and Craig Street which is less than 400 metres from the intersection of Canning Highway, The Causeway, Albany Highway and Shepperton Road.

The ground floor lobby and first floor facility were refurbished in July 2018 and the space comprises a number of private offices, open plan co-working cubicles, a generous break-out and collaborative space and 3 purpose built meeting rooms.

Partnership with Innovate Australia

May 2018

Innovate Australia was established in 2014 to encourage, assist and proactively promote Australian innovation. The organisation works with industry to bring about and encourage innovation, to showcase innovation, and to develop innovative programs and innovation networks. It is a not for profit, independent facilitator with a wide national footprint.

They are bi-partisan and collaborate equally with industry, academia and government.

Innovation in Australia is important and we were delighted to be able to contribute.

Opening of purpose built Training & Conference Centre

March 2018

The centre at 197 St Georges Terrace aims to provide businesses a state-of-the-art facility for conferences, training and corporate events, meeting, and seminars of all sizes.

The Liberty Training and Conference Centre provides 9 purpose-built rooms in a 1200sqm self-contained venue.

Purpose built mixed use environment opens to include co-working, private offices and corporate solution.

May 2016

In May 2016 Level 21 at Allendale was opened to combine Private Offices and a purpose built Coworking facility, as well as a Corporate Solution for Valmont.

Liberty restructures lease at Allendale Square

December 2015

To assist Mirvac with securing a much larger transaction Liberty successfully negotiated the surrender of level 25 and the acquisition of level 21.

Paul Miller joins the Executive Team

March 2013

The executive team was reinforced by the appointment of Paul Miller as Commercial Director in 2013. Paul brought 14 years industry experience, 9 of which he had previously worked directly with Jamie. Paul’s role changed in October 2019 when he became Chief Operating Officer.

The business grew by 50%

May 2012

In 2012 the business expanded by adding Level 14 at 197 St George’s Terrace which gave the business capacity of circa 400 workstations and a presence at the western end of St Georges Terrace close to the resource giants such as Woodside, BHP & Rio Tinto. In doing so Liberty became the largest operator of serviced office in Perth at the time.

4th July 2011 (Independence Day)

Liberty opens Level 24 at Allendale Square, 77 St Georges Terrace in Perth.

By October 2011 it had opened it’s 2nd floor on level 25 which provided capacity for over 250 workstations and 3 meeting rooms.

Founded in 2010

Founded in 2010 by Jamie Vine, Liberty is an Australian owned and operated business. Jamie spent 15 years in senior positions in the serviced office industry across Europe, where he was instrumental in achieving some of the phenomenal growth experienced within the sector. It is this experience that has defined Liberty’s client centric proposition and launched the business into Australasia.
